仏像の種類

 

◎　如来（にょらい）

 

悟りを開いた後のお釈迦様の像。

出家後のお姿なので原則として

宝冠や装身具は身につけない。

仏教の真の悟りを開いた者、

仏、仏陀と同義語で、菩薩・

明王・天部を率いる最高位の仏様です。

釈迦如来、薬師如来、阿弥陀如来、

大日如来など

◎　明王（みょうおう）

 

ご真言を祈り唱える事によって

大きな効力を発揮する仏様を言います。

不動明王は、大宇宙を司る大日如来の使者。

◎　菩薩（ぼさつ）

 

自ら悟りを求めて修行をし、

同時に人々を救おうと努力する

仏様です。もともと出家成道以前の

お釈迦様がモデルで髪が長く

宝冠を被り、頸飾りや腕輪などの

装身具を身につけています。

如来に付き添って修行する菩薩と

いう存在です。

釈迦如来には、「文殊菩薩」と「普賢菩薩」

阿弥陀如来には、「観音菩薩」と「勢至菩薩」

薬師如来には、「日光菩薩」と「月光菩薩」が

脇侍として左右を固めています。

守ってくれる神々。
