この趣味は、何かに打ち込みたい、

無心になって世間を忘れたい

という方にぴったりだと思います。

 

 

 

 

仏像彫刻は定年後の

ぼけ防止の趣味と思われがちですが

そうではありません。

 

１３００年の歴史の重み、

そして仏像彫刻という優れた技術、

この素晴らしい文化を堪能しています。

 

 私のは、この伝統をいつまでも

大切にし、若い方に

引き継いでもらいたいと思っています。

 

 

I have wanted to engrave a Buddha statue for many years

 

and I am committed to enjoying it now.

 

This hobby is perfect for those who want to immerse themselves

 

into something, or want to forget worldly things and be free from thought.

  

Doing Buddha sculpture after retirement might be often considered

 

a hobby to prevent senility, but this is not the case.

 

The weight of a 1300-year long history, and the excellence of the art

 

that is the Buddha sculpture, this wonderful culture gives me satisfaction.

 

I would like to forever keep this tradition in importance,

 

and for the youth to take over in cherishing it.
